Centerless Grinding

Description of Centerless Grinding

Centerless grinding is used to produce parts that do not have centers. Typical parts are piston pins, roller bearings, bar stock, valve lifters and sockets, as well as irregular shaped pieces. A cylindrical form is produced by the grinding operation seeking the minimal reduction needed to develop roundness regardless of part centerline.
